TMNT vs Street Fighter

Thoughts

So I guess this is the last book review of 2024, and it was a good one. A little fun again back with a comic book I got for Christmas – TMNT vs Street Fighter. Man, it has nostalgia written all over it. From the cameo appearances, to the callbacks to the videogames, and even staying true to each character. This was a fun read. It took me about 30 mins start to finish. There’s just something about comics since I was a kid that I could never get enough of once I pick it up.

The storyline itself is a little mediocre, but that’s what I think makes it work with these two groups of characters. Is it for a younger audience? Yes. But that’s the point it’s fun and it brings together some video game legends on the page. It’s not going to be some story that you will remember for years to come, but there’s a ton of great quips, and lines that made me smile as I read through the pages. Each of the turtles personalities shine through each panel, and the street fighter characters get some personality just as you probably imagined each of them.

This is a fun comic. It gives you the chance to see your favorite characters on the page and interacting with each other. It doubles as that multiverse here where everyone can exist in the same universe. The story isn’t anything to write home about, but it just brings them all together. It’s predictable, but the writing is light and jokes are on every page. I think it’s an interesting take and is worth the quick read!

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.
