Slow productivity is something that every 9-5er should read, and probably something their managers should read as well. It’s a thoughtful take on the way the world operates today. Since our whole economy has turned into speed and quantity, we are slowly losing quality. Cal Newport breaks down slow productivity into 3 main topics that make up the second half of the book. It’s three long chapters are dedicated to each of those points. While he explores the pros and cons of each and consequences that it has on the societal norm. It’s funny as I read the book, I had to put it down and think about each of the chapters that Cal wrote about.
We take on to much all at once and too fast before we are ready. We need to practice the art of slowing down, and producing a quality and valuable product to whatever process or business that we are working in. It was quick and easy read for anyone interested in a productivity book that you can digest in a few trips to your “unproductive” job.
A simple and efficient book to get a fire started under you and start to look back at the way that you work and get things accomplished.
