Thoughts
I devoured this as my first complete book read of 2026. I didn’t get a chance to finish every book from my 2025 gifts, but I’ll be continuing those throughout this year.
I have been enjoying this series as with some others to give some new spins on the classic turtles. The Lost Years continues with the departure from the normal turtle clan dynamic, lends more to the dystopian future, and explores the new leading series of “grandkids”. The Lost Years fills in some of the gaps during, The Last Ronin comic. It delves deeper into April’s life now, and the other grandkids that were shown at the end of, The Last Ronin. It’s a new life for TMNT and gives some fun and fresh perspectives of things.
The main story continues following Mikey and his brothers his journey with being captured, learning from a new sensei, and some other obstacles in his journey. It’s nothing that hasn’t been tried before in other superhero comics, but with the element of his lost brothers either influencing decisions or causing more harm than good, adds another layer on the journey.
This was my first quick book read for 2026, that I got in a sack of books. I’m excited to keep the story going with the lost ronin 2 and see what the conclusion is for this story. Maybe they’ll be a family reunion…
