The Age of AI

Thoughts

So here was one of the books that I was excited to read on one of my most recent flights. It’s a hot topic that everyone is talking about, but this book is a few years old. Written back in 2021, which seems like ages ago. I mean really think about 2021, AI to the general public wasn’t in existence or anywhere to where it is now. The pandemic was still in full swing, and we were just all getting used to zoom and teams calls. To think about 2021 is mind blowing how much the world had changed.

I had actually listened to this podcast on DOAC where Eric Schmidt talked with Steven about the fears and positives of AI. This Age of AI book talks in hypotheticals but has some really good detailed examples of benefits and job creation/loss because of AI. Now, getting to see how much of this has been correct is still yet to be seen. Some of the predictions are further out till 2030, but the industries are definitely shaken up with AI already has declared in the book. It does a good job of balancing the doom and gloom, paired with the large benefits of AI development.

The Age of AI is a good read for anyone looking to hear some retrospective and futuristic approaches to the world under the influence with AI. While nothing ground breaking it makes you think where the evolution of our AI companions are going to go.

Rating: 3 out of 5.
