It’s been a little while since I had a real “fun” book to read. One that is silly, but still a captivating read. This quick little book was on a topic that is familiar to just about anyone in the united states, and especially around the NJ area. The author went on a true deep-dive into anything and everything to outwit squirrels. It was a book where imagine those moments where you get so obsessed with trying to win at the littlest argument or in this case try to “beat” the squirrels, but then you actually go down this path to uncover everything about them. Then you wind up finding so many other people who are also in the same situations as you and are trying to accomplish the same thing. This is that book. It’s fun, witty, and provides some actual helpful research into birds and squirrels. The author does an actual very technical breakdown from everything to biology, to national park data, referencing stories, and provide an in-depth analysis on different bird feeders.
Overall the book was a fun read and gives the reader a quick facts that can be useful if you have a house and need to stop squirrels or want to attract birds for your home. Each chapter was easily digestable, and there’s one to list over 101 to stop squirrels some useful and some jokes.
It’s a quick read, fun, engaging, and useful throughout the moments from the author. I didn’t think I would enjoy it as much as I did. However, there’s probably someone in your family or life that you can relate this book too. Find that person and hand them this book whether they are the bird watcher or the DIY home owner, this book would be perfect for them!
