Just a quick update to post about some of the training and running that’s been going on. Signed up on a whim one Sunday, and was able to still break a 5k time of mine. I think I actually could have ran a bit faster, but I had a longer interval work the day before. I’ll say legs were sore, but got it done, and the experience was pretty cool.

There really is no course for this race except through the Lincoln tunnel from Weehawken to NYC and back. GPS was useless, so there’s no mapped route for this one. Really cool though to run through a tunnel that I’ve hated so much traveling into NYC. This race at the end of the day wasn’t planned into the training too much, but I think it just shows how much potential we have going into the summer for some 5 and 10k’s.
This last build cycle should finally come to an end June 5th. I’ve been following the same lifting cycle and running program for the last 4 months, building up for a heavy race season this year. Hopefully if all works out well, I’m going to start cross training for a future triathlon or duathlon this year as well in the fall. Once I have the new training program, I’ll post the update here!
